185-year-old post box to be locked from September 1

Amaravati: The Indian Postal Department has taken a key decision. Post boxes, which have a history of 185 years, will be completely discontinued from today, September 1st.
From now on, all letters, registered posts, and greetings will reach their destination directly via speed post. Post offices will continue to operate as usual. These days, the use of post boxes has decreased due to technology like WhatsApp and email.
