31 Maoists were killed in an encounter in Bijapur
Amaravati: 31 Maoists were killed in an encounter in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh on Sunday. Two security personnel were killed in the exchange of fire. The security forces have received reliable information from the intelligence sources that Maoists have gathered near the Indrawati National Park in Bijapur districts. Due to this, the security forces have cordoned off the area. The Maoists noticed the movements of the security forces and opened fire on the security forces. After this, the security forces retaliated and there was continuous firing on both sides for about 5 hours. Later, the security personnel found dead bodies of 31 Maoists at the incident site. The security forces seized weapons and explosives from the area.
Bastar IG Sundar Raj revealed that the two security personnel who died in this encounter belonged to Chhattisgarh government’s District Reserve Guard and Special Task Force. Also, two others were injured in the firing and they were taken to the hospital. The doctors said that there is no danger to their lives. It has been revealed that they have been shifted to the district center hospital for better medical treatment. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced that Maoists will be eradicated from the country by March 2026. He suggested that the Maoists should give up violence and surrender.
