Test of Beyond Visual Range “Astra” missile, which will strike fear into enemies, successful

Amaravati: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has successfully test-fired the indigenously developed Beyond Visual Range (BVR) missile, “Astra”, at the Ammulapodhi test range. This weapon, which can destroy air-to-air targets from the air, was tested off the coast of Odisha by a Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter jet. The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Air Force have test-fired the Astra missile. The Astra missile can destroy targets beyond 100 kilometers. It is equipped with advanced guidance and navigation systems. Two missiles were fired during the test, and the Astra missile hit the target twice with high accuracy. The Defense Ministry said that the Astra missile has an indigenous radio frequency (RF) seeker. The two tests conducted targeted drones at different altitudes, it explained. DRDO said that all systems performed as expected in these tests. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO and IAF for the successful missile test.
