Call National Cyber Helpline 1930 if anyone feels fear in the name of digital arrests: PM Modi
Amaravati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has explained that digital arrest is not in the law, it is a fraud and the work of cyber criminals. In the 115th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, the Prime Minister addressed the people of the country on Sunday and wished all the people of the country Happy Diwali.
The Prime Minister made it clear that people should be alert to cyber criminals who are extorting money by scaring innocent people in the name of digital arrests, and that no investigating agency will conduct an investigation through phone or video call.
“They are introducing themselves as police, CBI, RBI, narcotics officers through cell phones under digital arrest scams, and they speak very confidently,” he said. People have asked me to talk about this issue in ‘Mann Ki Baat’.
It is suggested that if anyone feels fear in the name of digital arrests, they should call the National Cyber Helpline 1930 and file a complaint with the police in cyber crime.To prevent such frauds, investigating agencies have blocked thousands of video calling IDs, lakhs of SIM cards, mobile phones and bank accounts. Modi asked to be vigilant against scams in the name of digital arrest.
