Chandrababu remanded till 22nd of this month
Amaravati: TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who was arrested in the skill development scam, has been arraigned in the ACB court. The court sentenced him to judicial remand (14 days) till the 22nd of this month. With this, Chandrababu will approach the High Court on Monday. His lawyers will file a lunch motion petition. TDP has called for state bandh on Monday. Police are making arrangements to move Chandrababu to Rajahmundry Jail. Even though the Supreme Court lawyer Siddharth Luthra strongly presented his arguments on behalf of Chandrababu, the ACB court judge ordered the case to be remanded after examining the antecedents of the case.
Chandrababu’s lawyers filed two petitions in the court immediately after the court’s verdict imposing judicial remand. Another petition was filed to keep him under house arrest instead of sending him to jail or if he is moved to central jail, to provide special accommodation there, and to allow Chandrababu to take home meals and medicines for his health. On the other hand, the CID has also filed a petition asking Chandrababu to be handed over to their custody for a week for questioning.
