Northern states witness scorching sun-7.6 degrees above normal-IMD
Amaravati: The intensity of the sun is gradually increasing in the country. Daytime temperatures are being recorded 7 degrees above normal. People are afraid to go out due to the intense heat. The elderly and children in particular are suffering from heatstroke. Due to heat waves in many states of the country on Tuesday, maximum temperatures were recorded in the national capital Delhi, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. The highest maximum temperatures in the country were recorded in Barmer, a desert region of Rajasthan. The India Meteorological Department said that the temperature in Barmer was recorded at 46.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. It was revealed that this temperature was 7.6 degrees above normal. Apart from Barmer, other places recorded temperatures of 45 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer, 44.5 degrees Celsius in Chittorgarh, 44.4 degrees Celsius in Bikaner, and 44.2 degrees Celsius in Ganganagar. The IMD said that the temperatures in these areas are 7 to 9 degrees Celsius above normal.
