Ravichandran Ashwin announces retirement from international cricket
Amaravati: As part of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, the draw for the third cricket test match held at the Gabba in Australia has ended. Immediately after the match, Team India’s star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin announced his retirement from international cricket. Ashwin revealed his decision in a press conference along with captain Rohit Sharma. He said that he felt lucky and honored to represent the country all these years. Ashwin has played only one match in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy. Played in the Pink Ball Test held at Adelaide. In this match, Ashwin scored 22 runs in the first innings and 7 runs in the second innings. He scored 53 runs in 18 overs and lost only one wicket. Ashwin played 106 Tests, 116 ODIs and 65 T20 matches for India. He scored 537 wickets and 3503 runs in 106 Tests. He became the second Indian bowler to take most wickets in Test cricket. He scored 707 runs with 156 wickets in 116 ODIs and 184 runs with 72 wickets in 65 T20Is.
