Amaravati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday announced the launch of the “Sahar Taxi App” as part of efforts to break the monopoly of rental ride providers Ola and Uber. He said that this app was created with the aim of giving drivers complete control over their earnings. He said that this app will be free of any commission deduction after the services are provided. Speaking in the Lok Sabha on Thursday, the Home and Cooperation Minister said that this move will enable cooperative societies to register taxis, two-wheelers, auto-rickshaws and other four-wheelers without the involvement of middlemen. The Home Minister said that this Sahakari taxi app will also provide ride services like Ola and Uber. Moreover, this Sahakari Taxi app… He said that they will not charge any fees from drivers like Ola and Uber, and will pay the entire amount to them. Usually, companies like Ola and Uber take a huge cut in the fare charged from the customer… The rest of the money is paid to drivers and riders.

Amit Shah revealed that “Our slogan is ‘Sakhaar Se Samriddhi'” but this is not limited to slogans, but is being implemented at the field level.
He said that our government has worked tirelessly for three and a half years to design this Sahakari app. He said that this app, which will provide benefits to drivers, will be made available soon.
