Strict Election Code of Conduct in the District-Collector
Nellore: District Election Officer and Collector M. Harinarayanan stated that the rules of the Election Commission of India are strictly followed and the code of conduct of elections is being strictly implemented in the district. The Collector along with District SP Arip Hafeez and Joint Collector Sethu Madhavan inaugurated the newly established media center at the DRDA meeting hall in the Collectorate on Monday. On this occasion, the Collector said that the arrangements for the election had started a week before the notification of the Collector’s election. He said that the election code of conduct is being implemented as per the rules of the Election Commission.
The Collector stated that the complaints received regarding violation of the code are being resolved from time to time. He said that so far 257 complaints have been received through the C’Whistle online portal and steps have been taken to resolve the complaint within 100 minutes. Special attention has been paid to the movement of cash, liquor and other goods in the district, and 18 check posts have been set up across the district and strict vigilance has been maintained.
Seizure of goods worth Rs.1.96 crores:- : So far, 1200 liters of liquor worth Rs.7.50 lakhs, 92 lakhs in cash, 88 lakhs of gold and silver, and other goods worth Rs.7 lakhs have been seized in the district, the Collector explained.
