The Center has clarified that there will be no change in the price of petrol for the common man

Amaravati: The central government has recently taken a decision to increase excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs.2. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Harideep Singh Puri, speaking at a media conference, made it clear that the burden of this excise duty hike will not be on the common man. He clarified that the excise duty hike will be borne by the oil companies and that the burden of petrol prices will not be on the common man. It was revealed that the decision to increase excise duty was taken in the wake of volatile global oil prices. The Oil Ministry said in its notification that the excise duty hike on petrol and diesel prices will come into effect from April 8.
