Losing my livelihood…
Amaravati: The brutal terror attack that took place in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday has thrown the tourism industry there into a deep crisis. According to an estimate, tourism-related business worth around Rs. 8,000 crore was done during this summer season. With this, the local Kashmiris are financially stable. Due to this incident, the locals, who depend on this as their main source of income, had to lose their livelihood. When tourists do not arrive in Pahalgam, some people make a living by selling essential items to tourists through various shops, while others provide food and room facilities to tourists through hotels and restaurants. Many laborers and workers are employed by them doing various tasks. Due to the terror attack, all the tourists returned from Pahalgam. Many locals also returned to safer areas. The shops and hotels there were closed. They are worried about how they will survive if the situation continues like this.
