Will the movie “Emergency”, starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, be banned in Telangana?

Amaravati: Bollywood actress, M.P Kangana Ranautin the lead role is based on the Indian Emergency which continued from 1975 June 25 to 1977 during the rule of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Set against the backdrop of a political drama, Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of Indira Gandhi in this film. Now that the film is about to be released, without leaving any chance for controversies before the elections, the film makers have announced a grand release worldwide on 6th September. With the release date approaching, new news is coming in about the possibility of ban in Telangana. Government advisor Mohammad Ali Shabbir said that he will examine the issue of movie ban.
A group of Telangana Sikh Society representatives led by former IPS officer Tej Deep Kaur Meenan together with Shabbir demanded a ban on emergency release. In the wake of Sikh community representatives expressing concern over the way the Sikh community is portrayed in the film, CM Revanth Reddy asked Shabbir to look into the issue of banning the film in the state.. Many important developments took place during the Emergency, including suspension of civil rights and arrests of opponents of Indira Gandhi. Popular Bollywood director Anupam Kher, actors like Prakaash Narayan, who fought against Indira Gandhi during the Emergency, Shreyas Talpadhe, Bhumika Chawla etc. are playing important roles.
