11 killed as car skids off road due to heavy rains

Amaravati: 11 people died in a road accident in Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday. 15 people set off in a Bolero SUV to visit the Prithvinath Temple.
Due to heavy rains, a car lost control and plunged into the Sarayu river canal near Belwa Bahuta Rehra Mod under Itiathok police station limits.
Gonda District SP Vineet Jaiswal said that 11 people lost their lives on the spot and three were seriously injured in this horrific accident.
To the same family:- The deceased were residents of Sihagaon under Motiganj police station limits and included five women and six men.
It was revealed that the deceased in the accident were Beena (35), Kajal (22), Mahaak (12), Durgesh, Nandini, Ankit, Shubh, Sanju Verma, Anju and Soumya. The severity of this accident is made even more tragic by the fact that most of the deceased were from the same family.. The driver survived.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath immediately responded to the incident and expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased. He also directed the district authorities to provide financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to the families of the deceased and to provide better medical assistance to the injured. He wished the injured a speedy recovery.
