Hindus conversion event that came to light late

Amaravati: A case of forced religious conversions came to light in Malin village of Magantpuram, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh on Friday. Around 400 people were forcibly converted to Christianity in the hope of being saved during the Covid crisis. Siva, Binwa, Anil, Sardar, Nikku, Basant, Prema, Titli, Rani and others filed a complaint and the police registered a case against nine accused. Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Singh told the media that they have shown a lot of hope to convert to Christianity. The victims stated in their complaint that they were forced to stay away from the idols of Hindu gods and goddesses. According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused took advantage of the time of the Covid crisis. The victims along with the local BJP leader complained at the Brahmaputri police station that they were offered money and food for conversion and now they are being pressured to accept Christianity and remove the idols and pictures of Hindu gods and goddesses. They said that they adhere to orthodox Hinduism. They said that they are pressurizing us to change the names in the author cards for conversion. On the day of Diwali, they broke into the houses and destroyed the idols. Why are you still praying even after converting? They threatened to kill us if we protested,” the victims clearly stated in their complaint. The SP said that they will investigate the complaint received and take appropriate action.
