India is the most populous country in the world

Amaravati: India has become the most populous country in the world. The statistics of the United Nations have made it clear that India has more than 29 lakh people, surpassing the population of China.
The United Nations Population Fund has released a report titled State of World Population Report 2023.
According to the report, India has a population of 142.86 crores. China’s population is 142.57 crores, while America is in 3rd place with 340 million. It is not clear when India surpassed the population of China.
It is informed that this report has been prepared according to the details available till February 2023.
It states that one third of the world’s population (804.5 crores) resides in these two countries. China’s population peaked in 2015 and has been declining ever since. It has been revealed that the population of India is gradually increasing. According to the data, 25 percent of India’s population is in the age group of 0 to 14 years, 18 percent is in the age group of 10 to 19 years, and 26 percent is in the age group of 10 to 24 years. 68 percent of India’s population is between 15 to 64 years of age, and 7 percent of the population is over 65 years of age.
