Heavy rains likely at some places in South Coast & Rayalaseema of AP-APSDMA-M.D.Kurmanath

Amaravati: AP Disaster Management Agency M.D. Ronanki Kurmanath said on Wednesday that the low pressure which formed in southwest Bay of Bengal on the 14th has strengthened and turned into a cyclone and is moving towards northwest at a speed of 12 km per hour. Currently, depression is 360 km from Chennai, 390 km from Puducherry and 450 km from Nellore. Vayugundam is likely to cross Puducherry-Nellore coast close to Chennai on Thursday morning.
As a result of this, light to moderate rains will fall on Wednesday, heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at some places in South Coast & Rayalaseema. Heavy rains are likely to occur in some areas on Thursday and gusty winds will blow at a speed of 40-60 km per hour along the coast. People are advised to be alert.
