Bourne Vita will not come under “health drinks” category–NCPCR
Amaravati: NCPCR (National Commission for Protection of Child Rights) has recently confirmed that Born Vita advertised by cricketers like Sachin Tendurk, Kapil Dev has sugar levels beyond the limit. The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry released a very important “note” on Wednesday. Bourne Vita has made it clear that it will not come under the category of ‘health drinks’. The Ministry of Commerce has ordered the e-commerce companies to remove Born Vita from this category. It has suggested to remove Born Vita and all drinks and beverages from the health category on their respective websites and other platforms. The Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act-2005 constituted under Section (3) of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has recently taken up an inquiry under Section 14 of the CRPC-2005 Act. The FSS Act, 2006, the rules submitted by Modelz India Food Private Limited do not define ‘health category drinks’, the Centre’s notification said.
