Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Congress party will not miss any opportunity available to bring the economic condition of poor people to the brink of collapse before 2014. He said that during the Congress regime, the poor people had to travel around the office to get any benefit from the government, but during the BJP regime, the benefits of the schemes were directly delivered to their homes. He said that the creation of state-of-the-art infrastructure is being done across the country. He said that the creation of state-of-the-art infrastructure is happening in Karnataka as well as all over the country. He said that with the creation of infrastructure, jobs and investments will come and people’s income will also increase. He said that in the last 9 years, more than 2 crore houses have been constructed for the poor people across the country, and lakhs of houses have been constructed in Karnataka alone. Tap water has been provided to 40 lakh families under Jal Jeevan Mission. He said that sugarcane farmers have been given many relaxations in the budget. He said that from 2013-14, Rs.17, 000 crore worth of ethanol will be purchased from sugar mills, and this money will reach the sugarcane farmers. From biotechnology to manufacturing of defense products, from aerospace to EVs, Karnataka is the main hub for these new industries.
(With the construction of 6 lanes between Bangalore-Mysore, the travel time will be reduced from 3 hours to 75 minutes. Modi also laid the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 16,000 crore in Mandya, Hubli-Dharwad district on Sunday.)
