EC suspended Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar

Hyderabad: The Election Commission has issued an order suspending Telangana DGP Anjani Kumar for meeting TPCC president Revanth Reddy before the election results were declared as a violation of the election code. The Election Commission took this decision shortly after meeting Revanth Reddy. Show cause notices have been issued to DGs Mahesh Bhagwat and Sanjay Kumar Jain. Anjani Kumar along with several senior police officers went to Revanth Reddy’s house in the afternoon and congratulated Revanth by giving him a bouquet. It is reported that the EC has ordered to appoint a qualified police officer as the next DGP.
