25 apps banned for hosting obscene and objectionable content

Amaravati: The central government has taken a strict decision to stop obscene and objectionable content on digital platforms in the country. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has banned 25 OTT apps and websites for broadcasting immoral and illegal content, on orders from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The government has revealed that these platforms offer soft porn or light adult content, which is against Indian culture and morality. This move is being considered a step towards keeping the digital culture in the country safe and responsible.
Apps banned by the Center:- Ullu, ALTT, Big Shots, Deciflix, Boomex, Navrasa Lite, Gulab App, Kangan App, Bull App, Jalva App, Wow Entertainment, Look Entertainment, Hitprime, Phenio, ShowX, There are Soul Talkies, Adda TV, HotX VIP, Hulchal App, MoodX, NeonX VIP, Fugi, Mozflix, Triflix. Internet Service Providers (ISPs) have been directed to block these platforms immediately under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the IT Rules, 2021. With this action, these websites and apps will no longer be available to the public.
