Amaravati: In the wake of India taking several stringent measures, including suspending the Indus Water Treaty with Islamabad following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, The central government on Monday banned 16 Pakistani YouTube channels for “spreading provocative content” & “misinformation against India”. The government has said that religiously sensitive content, misleading stories, and misinformation are being spread against India, the Indian Army & security agencies.
YouTube channels have been identified as spreading inflammatory and religiously sensitive content, as well as misleading stories targeting India, the Indian Army, and security agencies. First on the list is the YouTube page of Dawn, a Pakistani English-language newspaper launched in British India by Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1941. It is the largest English newspaper in Pakistan & is said to be the country’s record newspaper.
“British news channel, which has been a threat to India since the beginning”, aired misleading stories about the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. It issued a notice to the BBC for broadcasting news in favor of Pakistan.
