Flash floods in Himachal Pradesh, 200 tourists stranded

Amaravati: Due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, more than 200 locals along with tourists were trapped due to flooding in Bagipul area of Mandi district. Mandi District Padar DSP Sanjeev Sood said that the floods occurred near Prashar Lake in Bagipul area. He said that more than 200 people, including tourists and locals, were trapped near the buggy bridge on Mandi Prashar Road, and people were being shifted to safer places in the area. It is said that the bus of students coming from Chamba and many vehicles returning from Parashar were stuck. The Chandigarh-Manali highway was closed due to landslides due to flash floods, forcing commuters to get stranded in the middle of the road near Out in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh.. Due to incessant rains in many parts of Himachal Pradesh state, many parts of Kangra city have been flooded. The authorities temporarily closed the Mandi-Joginder Nagar highway. The police have advised the common people and tourists traveling on these roads not to stay on the roads adjacent to the mountains due to the risk of landslides.
