Warning of sudden heavy inflows to Somashila reservoir

Nellore: As the current inflow of 23000 cusecs from Adinimmayapalli dam to Penna River is expected to increase to 30000 cusecs to 50000 cusecs in addition to the current inflow of 15000 cusecs to Somasila reservoir, Somasila Division-1 Executive Engineer said on Thursday. He said that it is proposed to release 30000 cusecs of water into the Penna River from the crest gates of Somashila Reservoir at any one time and there are possibilities to increase the outflows depending on the inflows from the upstream. Concerned officials, people, children and villagers living on the banks of river Penna have appealed not to enter river Penna and to make necessary security arrangements along river Penna.
