Collector who initiated Masters Athletic state level competitions

Nellore: District Collector Chakradhar Babu wished for the return of the days when the youth showed passion towards sports by diverting their attention from cell phones, laptops and TVs. The Collector inaugurated the two-day Masters Athletic (Running race for above 30 years) state level championships at the AC Subbareddy Stadium on Friday. The players gave a warm welcome to the collector who came to the playing field for the first time. Afterwards, the players saluted the collector who unveiled the national flag. On this occasion, the Collector said that everyone learns sports from the mother’s lap, sports has no relation with age and appealed to people of all ages to make sports a part of their life. Seniors above 90 years are participating in these competitions regardless of age, he said, which is proof of the excellence of sports. All those participating in these sports should take care of their health and return safely. Taking them as inspiration, everyone should show interest towards sports. He said that it is our pride that Nellore is the venue for state level competitions. After that, the collector started the running race by lighting the torch. On this occasion, the Collector felicitated the senior sportsmen from different districts. NCC 24th Andhra Battalion CEO PK Pandey, Masters Athletics Association Chairman Rajashikhamani, President Lakshmipati Raju, State Secretary Ramprasad, District Secretary M Vijayalakshmi Reddy, Organizing Secretary Vinay Kumar, exercise teachers, athletes and others participated.
