Air India plane crashes in Ahmedabad

Amaravati:A plane crashed in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Thursday. It is reported that former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani was on this plane. Full information regarding this is needed. Flight Radar 24 said they last received the signal at 08:08:51 UTC. The plane is said to have crashed within seconds of takeoff. Flight number AI 171 operating between Ahmedabad-London Gatwick was involved in an incident today, the airline said in a statement.
The video shows the plane struggling to gain altitude after takeoff, hitting the ground and exploding in a ball of fire. The plane flew for about five minutes after takeoff. The incident occurred at 1.38 pm. It is reported that there are 232 passengers and 10 crew members on board.
Captain Sumit Sabharwal, who is flying the aircraft, has 8,200 hours of flying experience. The copilot also has 1,100 hours of flying experience.
According to ATC, the aircraft took off from Ahmedabad at 1339 IST (0809 UTC) from runway 23. Full details are yet to be officially announced.
