Amaravati: The people of Myanmar, Thailand, and China were shaken by severe earthquakes in response to the protests. A strong earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck Myanmar on Friday morning. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the initial quake had a magnitude of 7.7, with its epicenter about 16 kilometers northwest of Sagaing, Myanmar, at a depth of 10 kilometers. Local media reported that many buildings shook like twigs due to the earthquake, and that tall buildings collapsed in many places. The iconic Ava Bridge in Mandalay, Myanmar, collapsed due to these earthquakes. Footage of a bridge collapsing into the Irrawaddy River is going viral.
