Electricity lights for the first time in villages after 75 years

Amaravati: After 75 years of independence, electricity has been switched on for the first time in the remote Tethantop Gurjar township of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. Since independence, the villages of Anantnag in South Kashmir have remained in darkness. The political parties that have taken power have not lost sight of these areas. Officials have provided electricity to this village under the Pradhan Mantri Vikas Yojana, which was set up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the determination to provide electricity to remote villages in the country. Especially transformers, poles were installed and electricity was provided to the locals by overcoming all obstacles. Villagers honored the officials who worked hard to supply electricity. For the first time in their lives, light bulbs were lit in the houses, children read and wrote in the light of electric lights and expressed happiness. Earlier, villagers had to go to another area for charging their mobile phones. Now they are happy with the facility of charging at home.
