Gold worth Rs 6.7 crore seized in the state
Amaravati: A large amount of gold and cash was seized in the state. Gold and cash worth Rs.11 crore were seized in flash raids on Thursday. Customs officials formed 20 teams and conducted this operation. It was found that gold was being smuggled in RTC buses, cars and trains. About 5 kg gold was found in a person who was coming to Sullurpet from Visakha, Nellore, Eluru, Kakinada, Chilakaluripet, and Chennai. When the authorities arrested some other people, gold was also found with them. A total of 13.189 kg of bullion worth Rs.6.7 crore was seized. Along with the gold, the officers seized 4.24 crores in cash and arrested the four accused. Full details are to be known.
