Grandson of Lal Bahadur Shastri, who resigned from the Congress party, joined the BJP

Amaravati: As the 2024 parliamentary elections are about to begin, the Congress party is facing successive blows. Key leaders have already resigned from the party and joined BJP. Vibhakar Shastri, the grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, resigned from the Congress party on Wednesday. Patrini Mallikarjun Kharge submitted his resignation as primary member. Two Congress leaders Ashok Chavan and Baba Siddique have already resigned from the party from the Maharashtra unit. Ashok Chavan joined BJP and Siddique joined Ajit Pawar’s faction in NCP. After resigning today, Vibhakar Shastri joined BJP.
