Six youths died after falling into a pond in Podalakuru

Nellore: A tragic incident took place in Toderu village of Podalakuru mandal of Nellore district on Sunday afternoon. Ten youths went on a boat to fish in the pond for fun. When the boat turned in the middle of the ponds, they fell into the water. Four of these youths knew how to swim and came out safely and informed the villagers about the incident. Mannur Kalyan (30), Alli Srinath (16), Patti Surendra (16), Batta Raghu (25), Pamujula Balaji (20), Challa Prashant Kumar (26) are among those who drowned in the pond.  On receiving the information, the police brought the yard swimmers and started a search operation. On Monday afternoon, the dead bodies of Mannur Kalyan (30), Alli Srinath (16), Batta Raghu (25), Pamujula Balaji (20), and Challa Prashanth Kumar (26) were found. Intensive search for Patty Surendra is going on. After receiving information about the incident, District Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy reached the spot and reviewed the situation along with District Collector and SP.
