The railway department has reduced the reservation period of railway tickets from 120 days to 60 days
Amaravati: The railway department has said that the advance reservation period of railway tickets has been reduced from 120 days to 60 days. It will come into effect from 1st November.. IRCTC has made changes in the rules to this extent. Indian Railways has made these changes to enable the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in its services, the Railway Department said. Passengers who have already booked their tickets will not have any problem. For those booking till 31st of this month, the same rules as before will apply. Previously, travelers had the option of booking 60 days in advance. The terms were first increased to 90 days and then to 120 days. Now the old rule has been brought back.. the new rule will be applicable to all trains with reservation facility.. The same applies to all classes. Passengers making reservations in non-AC as well as AC classes can book tickets only 60 days before the date of travel.
