65 percent polling in the first phase of Gujarat elections

Amaravati: The Election Commission has announced that 65 percent polling has been recorded in the first phase of the Gujarat Assembly elections. In this phase, polling was held for 89 seats in 19 districts in South Gujarat and Kutch-Saurashtra regions. A total of 788 candidates stood in the election ring. The total number of voters is 2.39 crore and the authorities have set up 14,382 polling centers to exercise the right to vote.
