Why delay in deporting illegal immigrants-Supreme Court

American government agencies have identified that there are about 18,000 Indians living illegally in the US since the day after US President Trump came to power. The United States put all of them in detention centers and sent 205 people back to India in a military aircraft C-17. The plane that left from Texas reached Amritsar in India.

Amaravati: The Supreme Court has questioned why the government is acting completely differently in India if the US is acting harshly on illegal immigrants and sending them back to their countries.
The Supreme Court has expressed its anger against the Assam government, which is delaying the return of those illegally living in India from Bangladesh. Are they waiting for a moment without immediately sending back those identified as illegal intruders? The Supreme Court bench comprising Justice Abhay S. Oka, Justice Ujjal Bhuyan was enraged.

The problem of illegal infiltration is very common in states like West Bengal, Assam, which borders Bangladesh. In this context, the central government has implemented the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the bordering states to identify illegal infiltrators. Those found like this were put in detention centers in order to be sent back. The Supreme Court has expressed its anger over not sending back the 63 people identified as such. Once a person is identified as an illegal trespasser, the next step is to send them back. According to Article 21, he cannot be kept in a detention center for a long period of time. There are many such detention centers in Assam, how many people have been sent back from them? Justice Bhuyan asked.
Responding to the reply given by Assam Chief Secretary Kota Ravi, Justice Oka said that as their address was not known, there was delay in sending them back. Even if the illegal infiltrators are known from which country they have come from, but their addresses are not known, they have been kept in detention centers, but they are advised to send them to the capitals of the respective countries.Justice asked how long they will be kept in detention centers citing the reason that the address is not known. If you know their country, how can you wait until you know their address? The country decides where they go. Send them to their country’s capitals.. The bench asked the Assam government why it did not submit a proposal seeking the help of the Ministry of External Affairs to send them back.
