A hardened gangster from UP has been jailed for 10 years
Amaravati: The Ghazipur court on Friday sentenced the notorious gangster and former MLA Mukhtar Ansari from Uttar Pradesh to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 5 lakh in a case registered under the Gangster Act, 2009. The court convicted him in the case of murder and attempt to murder, in the same case Mukhtar’s close friend and co-accused Sonuyadav was sentenced to 5 years in prison and fined Rs 2 lakh. Ghazipur Additional District Government Advocate Neeraj Srivatsava said that no one can escape from the law. He said that a case was registered against Mukhtar Ansari and Sonu Yadav in 2010 and the court gave severe punishment to both of them in connection with that case. Mukhtar Ansari was elected MLA for 5 times from Mau constituency. He won 2 times as Samajwadi Party candidate. He is a relative of former Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari.
