Explosion in Christian convention center in Ernakulam, one dead, 50 injured.

Amaravati: An explosion took place at Jamra International Christian Convention Center in Ernakulam district of Kerala. One woman died and 50 others were injured in the accident. The people around the place where the explosion took place were in a state of panic. Christians are conducting special prayers at the convention center near Kalamassery Nest on Sunday. About 2 thousand people from the surrounding mandals like Varapuzha, Angamali, Edapalli came for this program. At around 9.30 in the morning, a huge explosion occurred in the center of the convention hall. Eyewitnesses said that three more small explosions took place in the same hall within a few moments. Ernakulam Collector Umesh said that immediately after receiving the information, the police reached the spot, took rescue measures and shifted the injured to Kalamassery Medical College for treatment. The police claimed that the convention center was locked from the inside, so there was a delay in bringing out the injured. The police are investigating the incident.
