A key agreement in the field of defense between India and America
Amaravati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s US visit has taken a crucial step towards further strengthening the bilateral defense friendship between India and the US. India has signed a historic agreement with the famous American aerospace company General Electrics (GE), and Hindustan Aeronautical Limited. India’s indigenously designed Tejas MARK-2 fighter jet engines will be jointly produced by GE with HAL in India. To this extent, the General Electrical Company has issued an official announcement. The organization said that with this agreement, cooperation between India and America in the field of defense will be strengthened. General Electric Chairman Lawrence Culp stated that this historic agreement was made possible due to the long-term partnership with India’s Hindustan Aeronautical Private Limited. GE designed F-414 INS 6 engines will be used in Tejas MARK-2 fighter jets. Under the engine manufacturing agreement, key know-how will be transferred to India.
