CRIME STORY……

Amaravati: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin handed over the Coimbatore car blast case to the NIA after the opposition BJP leader intensified his criticism of the bomb blast incident at the Iswaran temple last Sunday. Jameja Mubin (25), who was in the car, lost his life when a gas cylinder in a Maruti 800 car exploded at the Kottai Eshwaran Temple in Coimbatore on Sunday (23) morning. On the day before Diwali, a large number of devotees come to the Shiva temple and perform puja. The incident took place around 4 o’clock in the morning, and objects like iron pieces, iron wedges, bearing balls were seen in the vicinity of the explosion. Tamil Nadu BJP president Annamalai alleged that this was not an ordinary gas cylinder explosion incident, but a terrorist act, and if the same explosion had taken place around 6 o’clock, there would have been a huge loss of life to the devotees coming to the temple. Until then, Coimbatore police and senior officials took the incident of gas cylinder explosion very seriously and reached the place where the incident took place and started investigation. Police scrutinized the CCTV footage and arrested five people on Tuesday. It was found that they had put a gas cylinder in a sack from Mubin’s house and brought it to the car together. Mubin died after the gas cylinder in the car burst into flames, while Mohammad Dalga, Mohammad Azharuddin, Mohammad Riaz, Feroze Ismail and Mohammad Anas Ismail were arrested. A case has been registered against them under UAPA. The court sentenced them to judicial custody for 15 days.

The police split into two teams and searched Mubin’s house and the houses of Al-Umma organization. The house of Nawab Khan, brother of Al-Umma chief Syed Ahmad Basha, was also searched. Nawab was one of the conspirators behind the 1998 serial bomb blasts. He is currently serving jail sentence.

(Nawab’s son Mohammed Dalga was extensively questioned by the police. Dalga is among those arrested in the latest case. “In a WhatsApp status posted by Mubin before his death, he said, “If the news of my death reaches you, forgive my mistakes. Hide my faults. Be a part of my Janasa. “Pray for me,” the police said”. The police said that in the handwritten documents seized from them, they were conducting Rekki in some places. The race course, Victoria Hall, railway stations and other public places are in this list.)

Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai told the media that this was not an ordinary gas cylinder blast but a terrorist attack linked to the terrorist organization ISIS. He said that this atrocity happened because of the failure of the DMK government. He said that they will hold protest programs across the state on 27th of this month against the government led by Chief Minister Stalin.

Speaking to a news agency, Tamil Nadu BJP leader Narayanan Tirupati reiterated Annamalai’s allegations. They demanded that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) take over the responsibility of investigating the case. Since the incident happened, they have been saying that it was a terrorist attack, but the Tamil Nadu police said that it was just a gas cylinder explosion.

His party’s state president Annamalai said in a press conference that it was clearly an act of terrorism. Till then no case has been registered against these accused. It was only after Annamalai’s allegations that the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner responded and said that the five accused had been arrested under the UAPA. They demanded that the case should be handed over to the NIA as the police did not act proactively.
