Criminal action if registered as a voter in two areas-Rajeev Kumar

Amaravati: Central Election Commission chief Rajiv Kumar has warned that if a person (she or he) is registered as a voter in two areas, criminal action will be taken. The first meeting related to the 2024 general (parliament and assembly) elections was held in Vijayawada on Wednesday. On this occasion, he said that he held meetings with all (political parties, officials) on the preparation of the election. He said that steps will be taken to ensure that the upcoming elections are held in full transparency. He said that many complaints have been received from various political parties in the state, and the respective parties have asked to take action in the matter of deletions and additions in the voter list. It has been revealed that clear instructions have been given to the officials of all the departments to ensure that the elections are held in full transparency. He said that there are 4.07 crore voters in Andhra Pradesh, of which 1.99 crore are men and 2.07 crore are women. It is suggested that one can register as a voter anywhere before the release of SSR. He appealed to the voters to exercise their right to vote in the elections.
