Election rules should be strictly enforced-Collector Chakradhar Babu
Nellore: Collector Chakradhar Babu has directed the election nodal officers to conduct the MLC elections in the district effectively and strictly implement the election rules. Prakasam-Nellore-Chittoor graduates, Upadhyaya MLC, and Nellore Local Authorities MLC conducted a review along with Collector and Joint Collector Kurmanath in Tikkana premises of the Collectorate on Tuesday. The Collector said that 129 polling stations for graduate MLC elections and 40 polling stations for teachers MLC elections have been set up in the district. Also, the Collector explained that 5 polling centers are being set up for the Nellore Local Authorities MLC elections. It is advised to organize necessary training programs along with setting up of MCC and accounting teams for proper implementation of election code of conduct. In accordance with the guidelines of the Election Commission, the polling centers should have all the necessary facilities as well as security arrangements. Also, the Collector ordered to bring the details of the staff from the government offices and take steps to allocate the election duties. The district collector and the concerned nodal officers have been directed to prepare the strong room, distribution center, reception counters, polling material, printing of ballot papers and ballot boxes for the election process. A videographer and micro observers should be appointed for each polling station. Everyone who participates in the election duties must follow the duties assigned to all the nodal officers in order to conduct the upcoming elections smoothly in a peaceful environment keeping in mind the experiences of the previous elections.
