Fatal accident in which buses collided… 9 people died and 35 people were injured

Amaravati: Nine people were killed in a fatal road accident in Palapakkad area in Kerala on Wednesday. A tourist bus on its way to Ooty in Tamil Nadu collided with a Kerala RTC bus. As a result, 9 people died and 38 others were injured. Among the dead are 5 students, 1 teacher and 3 passengers of the RTC bus. They belong to Baselios Vidyanikethan School in Ernakulam district and are going to Ooty. Around 12 midnight on Wednesday, a speeding tourist bus tried to overtake the Kerala RTC bus from behind, but the out of control tourist bus rammed the Kerala RTC bus from behind and fell into the roadside canal. He said there were 49 people in the RTC bus at the time of the accident. After receiving the information, the police and officials reached the spot and lifted the tourist bus with the help of a crane. The injured were taken to hospital for treatment. Kerala Minister MB Rajesh said that post mortem is being done on the dead bodies on Thursday.
