Heroin worth Rs 200 crores being transported from Pakistan to India seized

Amaravathi: Six Pakistani nationals were caught in a joint operation by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) who was transporting drugs worth Rs.200 crores from Pakistan to India.40 kg of heroin was seized from them.ATS officials said, “It is known that they are trying to bring the goods to Punjab. Six Pakistani nationals were caught in an operation conducted in the middle of the sea while they were traveling in a fishing boat named ‘Al Tayasa’.He said heroin smuggling was detected through a fishing boat in the sea near Zakao port in Kutch district. In recent times, Gujarat ATS has assisted agencies like Narcotics Control Bureau, DRI, Punjab, and Delhi Police in recovering large quantities of heroin. This year alone, 1,288 kg of drugs, mostly heroin, worth Rs 6,440 crore have been seized in eight operations.
