Justice Dhananjay Y. Chandrachud was sworn in as the 50th CJI

Amaravati: Justice Dhananjay Y. Chandrachud took oath as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court on Wednesday. President Draupadi Murmu administered oath to the 50th CJI of the Supreme Court, Justice Chandrachud at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Justice Chandrachud has been serving in the Supreme Court for a long time. Chandrachud’s father Yashwant Vishnu Chandrachud served as the Chief Justice for about 7 years and four months. This is the longest CJI tenure in the history of the Supreme Court. Justice Dhananjay Yashwant Chandrachud was born on 11 November 1959. BA Honors in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. Later he did LLB from Campus Law Center of Delhi University. LLM and Doctorate in Forensic Science from Harvard Law School, USA.
