kamikaze drones ‘do and die’
Amaravati: On the occasion of India’s 78th Independence Day, the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) unveiled the development of powerful “swadeshi” (indigenous) kamikaze drones.. This drone is also known as Lattering Ammunition. These Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are designed to fly up to 1,000 km using indigenously developed engines..’ Related sources have revealed that this drone will efficiently complete the assigned work in a ‘do and die’ manner. Kamikaze drones will be a game changer in the field of warfare in the 21st century, said NAL Director Dr. Abhayan Pashilkar. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has given preliminary approval to start the Kamikaze drones project. Such ‘do and die’ weapons are currently widely used in Russia-Ukraine, Israel-Hamas war. Ukraine’s army is using these drones to target Russian troops and armored vehicles.
Meaning of Kamikaze:- Kamikaze is a Japanese word. A special attacking unit was named during World War II. Military pilots in this used to conduct suicide missions by shooting down enemy targets.
Kamikaze drone:- 2.8 meters long, 3.5 meters wide, 120 kg weight, 180 km per hour maximum speed,,Capable of traveling up to 1,000 km. They can carry 25 kg of explosives, destroy targets with suicide, and have the ability to bypass radars and enemy defense systems.
