The satellite was successfully launched into orbit by SSLV D-3 rocket-Somnath
Amaravati: SSLV D-3 rocket carrying EOS-08 earth observation satellite blasted off from Satish Thawan Space Center at 9.17 am on Friday.
ISRO Chairman Somnath announced that the 175 kg EOS-08 satellite was successfully launched into orbit through this launch. Congratulations to the scientists. This is the third and final launch of the D3-EOS8 mission.. Scientists were overjoyed with the success of the experiment.
Speaking on the occasion, ISRO Chief Somnath said that the SSLV-D3/EOS-08 small-lift launch vehicle, which was the third launch of this mission, was successfully completed. He said that in this launch which lasted for 17 minutes, the satellite was launched into the correct orbit as per the plan without any changes in the expectations. He said that the final orbit will be known after complete tracking, but according to the current indications, everything is going well. Along with EOS-08 satellite, SR-08 satellite also reached orbit.
EOS-08 Satellite:-EOS-08 Satellite designed to provide services for a year weighs 175.5 kg.. ISRO scientists installed three payloads in the satellite. This satellite is designed for services related to earth observation, disaster monitoring, environment protection, defense sector.
