Look into the possibilities of providing welfare schemes to beggars- Commissioner Vikas
Nellore: Commissioner Vikas Marmat has directed the officials to work for the welfare of the beggars in the city by giving them the necessary certificates to get the various welfare schemes implemented by the Andhra Pradesh government. As part of the supervision of sanitation management works, the commissioner supervised the garbage collection work being done in the 45th division smokestack and other areas on Wednesday at 6.30 am. The commissioner noticed the begging people in the premises of the local Sai Baba temple and spoke to them directly and inquired about the problems. It is suggested to look into the possibilities of granting documents like Aadhaar, voter, ration card which are necessary for facilities like pension and free houses to be provided by the government to the deserving ones. After that, the commissioner visited different areas of the division. He said that the branches of the huge trees which are being removed by the Electricity Department are being left in the local places, and the department has been directed to talk to them and take steps to clean them up. The Health Department Officer, Supervisors, Sanitation Inspectors and Sanitation Secretaries of the City Government took part in this program.
