Theft of tomatoes worth Rs.2.50 lakh
Amaravati: Thieves who steal gold, cash and valuables are currently stealing the fruits and vegetables that are in demand in the market and killing the farmers. The details given by Hasan district police in Karnataka state are as follows.. A woman farmer named Dharani is doing agriculture in Goni Somanahalli village on the outskirts of Hassan district. At present, the price of a kilo of tomato in Karnataka is above Rs.120.She cultivated tomato crop in her two acre farm. Thought that their problems would be solved to some extent.. She is ready to move the tomatoes to Bangalore in two days. but on Tuesday night, thieves broke into the tomato garden and stole around 50 to 60 bags of tomatoes.. The value of these tomatoes is Rs. 2.5 lakhs was expressed by the woman farmer. She said that the rest of the crop was destroyed. Based on the complaint of the victim’s son, the police have registered a case and are investigating.
