1.62 crore tourists visited Jammu and Kashmir

Amaravati: An official of the Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department revealed that 1.62 crore tourists have visited Jammu and Kashmir so far this year. After removing Article 370, 35B and making it a Union Territory, this is proof that development is going on fast in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that lakhs of tourists are coming to Kashmir again after 30 years. He said that the golden age has started again in Kashmir tourism and tourism is the biggest source of employment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that 1.62 crore tourists have visited Kashmir from January 2022 to date, and this is the first time that tourists have come to the highest level in India’s 75-year history of independence. It has been revealed that a record 20.5 lakh domestic tourists have come in the first 8 months of this year, of which 3.65 lakh are Amarnath pilgrims.

Due to tourism, locals have got a huge number of employment opportunities in Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir valley. He said that hotels and guesthouses in tourist areas like Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg are 100% full. Regarding film production, the officials said that a comprehensive film policy has also been formulated and permission has been given for 140 film shootings this time.
