Ban on Ola, Uber, and Rapido Auto services in Karnataka

Amaravati: Bommai government has banned Ola, Uber, Rapido auto services in Karnataka state. The government has ordered to stop the services within 3 days due to complaints of high fares from the passengers. Passengers have complained that Ola and Uber are extortionately charging Rs 100 even if the distance is less than 2 km. Transport Commissioner THM Kumar revealed that they have come to the notice of high fares being collected from many passengers without regard to the meter without following the government rules and they are banning them immediately. Under the On-Demand Transportation Technology Act 2016 notices have been issued to the concerned companies. He warned that strict action will be taken if cabs charge more than the charges prescribed by the government. The minimum auto charge in Karnataka has been fixed at Rs.30 for the first 2 kilometers and Rs.15 per kilometer thereafter. And we have to wait and see if these companies come down?
