The commissioner expressed satisfaction over the implementation of the Right to Information Act
Nellore: State Right to Information Act Commissioner B.V.Ramanakumar and the officials have stood up against the implementation of the Right to Information Act in the district. On Friday, the commissioner held an awareness conference on the implementation of the Right to Information Act at the ZP conference hall in the city. On this occasion, he said that even though it has been almost 17 years since the RTA Act came into existence, the officials have been slow in providing the information requested by the people. 17 points included in section 4(1b) should be considered and implemented in all government offices. The commissioner directed the officials to form a district level RTI monitoring committee to examine the applications and solve them within a specified time frame. In this awareness conference, President of District Law Service Organization, Senior Civil Judge Srinivasulu, ASP Mrs. Himavathy, DRDA PD Sambasiva Reddy, DM&HO Penchalaya, DPO Mrs. Dhanalakshmi, District Agriculture Officer Sudhakar Raju,Panchayati Raj SE Shivareddy, Nellore, Kavali RDOs Malola, Sheenanayak, Information Department, Social Welfare DDs Mrs. Ramadevi, Venkateswara Prasad, Tasildars, MPDOs, Civil Information Officers, RTA applicants participated.
