Cinema halls opened in Jammu and Kashmir after three decades

Amaravati: Cinema halls have opened in Jammu and Kashmir after three decades. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has opened cinema halls in Pulwama and Shopia in Kashmir. He announced that it is a historic day for the people of Kashmir that such malls will be set up in every district, and cinema halls are being dedicated to the youth. Halls will soon be made available in areas like Anantnag, Srinagar, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch. In addition to this, Manoj Sinha revealed that the first Inox multiplex will be opened in Kashmir next week, and it will be opened in Som War, Srinagar. It is said that a theater with three screens will be available with a capacity of 520 seats. Until 1980, there were about 12 theaters in Kashmir that used to show movies, but they were closed due to threats from terrorists. After that, in the early 1990s, all the remaining cinema halls were closed. Attempts were made to open cinema halls again, but in 1999, when terrorists attacked the Regal Cinema Hall in Lal Chowk, Srinagar with a grenade attack, those efforts were abandoned.
